30. Which documents must I submit if I belong to the SC/ST category?

If you belong to the SC or ST category, your caste/tribe must be listed in the Government of India schedule. 31. Do I belong to the OBC-NCL category?

- To know whether you belong to the OBC-NCL category, see the following website: www.ncbc.nic.in/Home Refer to the updated list of state-wise OBCs eligible for availing of the benefit of reservation, and information in respect of the creamy layer as per Central Government format.

33. Who is eligible to take the test under the PwD category?

- As per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016), persons with benchmark disabilities qualify for reservation of seats under the PwD category.

34. Who will provide a scribe/reader in case required by a PwD candidate?

- The PwD candidate will have to make arrangements for a scribe. He/she will have to carry the Scribe Affidavit.

36. Where do I mail my PwD certificate for approval?

- You must upload the scanned copy of the PwD certificate while filling the online Application Form.

37. During Online registration I have declared my category wrongly. Can I correct it?

- No. Category declared during online registration cannot be changed.

38. I have declared my category as GEN-EWS during registration. But I do not belong to GEN-EWS. Can I change it for DAT Mains?

- No.

39. I have declared my category as GEN-EWS during Online registration. I do not have a valid GEN-EWS certificate issued on or after 01-April-2020. Can I upload my GEN-EWS certificate issued prior to 01-April-2020?

- No. A valid GEN-EWS certificate as per the prescribed format, given on the website, issued on or after 01-April-2020, should be uploaded for availing the benefits of GEN-EWS category during the online registration.

40. I have declared my category as OBC-NCL during online registration. I do not have a valid NCL certificate issued on or after 01-April-2020. Can I upload my OBC-NCL certificate issued prior to 01-April-2020?

- No. A valid OBC-NCL certificate as per the prescribed format, given on the website, issued on or after 01-April-2020, should be uploaded for availing the benefits of OBC-NCL category during the online registration.

41. I am an OBC-NCL candidate. I find my caste mentioned only in the state list of OBCs of my state but not in the central list of OBCs, as listed in www.ncbc.nic.in. Am I eligible for reservation under OBC-NCL category?

- No. For availing the benefits of reservation, OBCs should be listed in the current updated central list of OBCs (www.ncbc.nic.in). OBCs present in the state list, but not covered in the central list of OBCs (as per the list in www.ncbc.nic.in) are not eligible to claim the reservation.

42. What is the non-creamy layer (NCL) criteria for availing benefits of reservation under OBC-NCL category?

- The criteria for Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) will be as per the current notification of Government of India.

43. I am an OBC candidate. I find my caste mentioned in the central list of OBCs, as listed in www.ncbc.nic.in. However, I do not belong to Non-Creamy Layer, as per the current notification of Government of India. Am I eligible for reservation under OBC category?

- No. Candidates belonging to the creamy layer of OBC are NOT entitled for reservation. Such candidates are treated as belonging to the general (GEN), i.e., unreserved category.

44. I am a PwD candidate with benchmark disability and have a valid PwD certificate. Am I eligible to avail additional one hour compensatory time during the examination?

45. I have Class XII pass certificate of 2019 Class XII examination and the marks statement as a separate document. Which document should I upload during the online registration?

- Upload the Class XII marks statement.

46. I am appearing for Class XII examination in 2021. Will I be able to register without uploading Class XII certificate?

- Yes

47. I have problem in downloading my admit card through the candidate portal. What should I do?

- In case of any problem in downloading of the admit card, the candidate should immediately contact the admissions@nid.edu.

48. I have completed my Class XII from outside India. Will I require any equivalence certificate before applying?

49. Do I need to submit GEN- EWS certificate every year?

- No. There is no need to submit GEN-EWS certificate every year after you get admission at NID.

50. Do I need to submit OBC-NCL certificate every year?

- No. There is no need to submit GEN-EWS certificate every year after you get admission at NID.

51. What are the documents that can be considered as proof of Birth?

- (i) Birth certificate under the Birth, Death and Marriage Certificate Act, 1969.
(ii) School Leaving Certificate

52. Whether a candidate of GEN-EWS category can also apply under General/Open seats?

- Yes. But after that he cannot claim for any reservation under GEN-EWS category.

53. Do I have to apply for each campus separately?

- No
